Start by revealing a safe area and look for numbers that constrain nearby squares. If a number equals the number of still-unflagged hidden cells around it, those cells are potential bombs. If the number already has enough flagged bombs beside it, the other adjacent hidden cells are safe. Combining clues from neighboring numbered squares is the key to solving harder Minesweeper positions.
